New CATZ facility opens in Seattle Sounders FC Training Facility

CATZ Named One of Top 10 Gyms in America

"I registered for a half marathon being held on February 3rd, 2008 and instead of my normal training schedule of "logging miles" I concentrated on the CATZ training sessions. Between Dec.'07 and Feb. '08 I did only 3 runs of 10-12 miles. However, since joining CATZ, I have religiously attended from 2 to as many as 5 sessions per week. During this time I have seen my "core" strength increase, my sprinting and recovery time improve. Well, I ran the Surf City USA half Marathon in cold blowing rain on Sunday morning February 3rd. To my surprise and excitement, I felt GREAT the entire race and turned in a Personal Best of 1:43:21 which crushed my previous best time by approximately 15 minutes! My next full marathon is in April and I can't wait to see how I do then! "

Getting to know Kyle Grier:

Any pre-game or pre-practice rituals or routines? Superstitions?
I always stretch before my games. My superstition is that if I get a different numbered
jersey I will lose my luck.

Most memorable Sports moment.
When my team was up 1-0 against the AU Capitals and they took a shot when the keeper
was out of the goal. I slid and headed the shot out. We won the game as a result.

Specific academic goals or career choices in mind?
I want to play professional soccer in Europe or become an architect.

Who is the most influential person/people in your life?
I was unable to juggle a soccer ball. I practiced and now my record is 205 juggles

“Out of all the kids I work with, Kyle is one of the
most dedicated to his sport. Before every session, I
let him on our 3v3 field and he is always juggling
and practicing his skills. It would not surprise me that he goes on to a career in soccer. His work in our CATZ sessions is always full-out and he gives 100% every time. I have even had to slow him down in warm-ups so he doesn’t expend too much
energy! Kyle is determined to do well and has the
drive to succeed. It is a pleasure to train him.”
