Jim Liston

Founder & President | MEd, CSCS jim@catzsports.com

Jim is the founder of CATZ and one of the country's leading experts on creating and delivering exercise programs for children as well as inspiring kids to embrace the benefits of physical activity. Jim has been a featured speaker on these topics to organizations such as the American Physical Therapy Association; National Strength and Conditioning Association; the California Parks and Recreation Society; the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance; and the American Youth Soccer Organization.

Jim has been featured as an expert on training youth athletes in The New York Times, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, Newsweek, Business Week, and Mens Health. He presently serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Clinical Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California.

Jim holds a BS from the University of Massachusetts and a Masters in Health Science from Springfield College. He has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) since 1995.

Kevin Wentz

Kevin is a licensed physical therapist and founder of CATZ with over 20 years experience focusing on sports rehab and performance training. Kevin has served as a consulting physical therapist for the Los Angeles Galaxy. He is also Director of Physical Therapy for CATZ Physical Therapy Institute in Pasadena, CA. In this capacity, Kevin rehabilitates as many as 100 athletes per month, including such notables as World Champion Boxer Oscar De La Hoya, NBA All-Star Stacey Augmon and US National Team Captain Claudio Reyna.

Kevin, a collegiate football player, received his BS in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota.

Dan Calichman

Dan was among the top professional soccer players in the United States for over 10 years. Following an All-American career at Williams College, Dan played for four years in Japan's prestigious J-League. Upon formation of the MLS, Dan returned to the US and played for the Galaxy, New England Revolution and San Jose Earthquakes. He was captain of the Galaxy, a member of the MLS All Star team and the USA Today Defender of the Year in 1997. Dan also played on the US National Team. In addition to his duties at CATZ, Dan also currently serves as the Head Men's Soccer Coach for Claremont McKenna College. Dan has been married for 10 years to Ruth and they have three kids Gabby, Joshua and Jackson.

Dan received a BS degree from Williams College. In addition to being a 3-time soccer All-American, he also played varsity lacrosse.

Amado Garcia

Amado has been involved in rehabilitation and sports performance training for 14 years. Since graduating from California State University Northridge with a degree in Health Science and Physical Therapy in 1994, Amado has been involved in direct patient care, program development, marketing and administration.

Currently Amado is the Director of Product Development at CATZ Physical Therapy Institute in Pasadena. He is involved in training, education and product/program development. Clinically, Amado has rehabilitated a number of athletes ranging from the high school level to the professional/elite level. Amado has given lectures on conditioning and pre-season training for Ski Clubs throughout the Inland Empire and injury prevention for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and NSCA.

Matt Janusz

Matt was raised in Littleton, CO and graduated from Dakota Ridge High School, where he participated on the soccer, track and football teams. Matt graduated from Stanford University with a BA and MA in Psychology. While attending Stanford, Matt played on the nationally ranked soccer team that reached back-to-back NCAA Final Four's.

Matt is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He enjoys working in the area of youth development and looks to continue helping kids learn life lessons through sport and live healthy lifestyles.

Cameron Miille

Cam grew up playing soccer in Sacramento. He graduated from Claremont McKenna College in 2007 where he played soccer and double-majored in Economics and Political Science. Cameron looks forward to helping CATZ expand by getting people excited about fitness and health.

Breanna Hutchinson

Breanna grew up in the small town of Indiana, Pennsylvania, where she attended Indiana Area High School. Growing up she played basketball, powder puff football and ran track.

Breanna graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Exercise Science. While at IUP, she was a member of the Exercise Science Majors Club, made the dean’s list and received the Eugene E. Lepley Scholarship for academic excellence.

Breanna is a certified Municipal Police Special Instructor and a Water Safety Instructor. She feels that at CATZ she can utilize her knowledge in Exercise Science to develop, implement and coordinate fitness programs in a dynamic health setting to guide individuals toward a positive standard of living.

Nicole Sedmak

Performance Nutritionist & Coach | CSCS nsedmak@catzsports.com

Nicole Sedmak has joined the CATZ team as our on-site Performance Nutritionist and Performance Coach. A world-class kick boxer, Nicole competed in four Savate World Championships, winning silver medals in 2002 and 2006. She is also an accredited Performance Nutritionist with a passion for helping athletes perform their best and making sure children get the right start.

Kaaron Conwright

Kaaron was born and raised in LA and graduated from Westchester High School where he played baseball, football and ran track. His talents earned him a scholarship at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he graduated with a BA in English and a minor in Ethnic Studies. While attending Cal Poly SLO, Kaaron became a 5-time All American in track and field.

Kaaron ran professionally for seven years competing both nationally and internationally for the US. He clocked a 10.05 in the 100m. He also ran on the national relay team that still holds the record at the World Cup, clocking a 37.56. After retiring, Kaaron became the head sprint coach of the Korean Federation. In addition to working at CATZ, Kaaron now serves as an assistant coach to John Smith,(the world’s foremost sprint coach), where he trains Olympic caliber athletes.
