GOLD RUSH!  15 CATZ-trained athletes win gold medals in Beijing.

From Tragedy to Triumph: U.S. Wins Gold

"I registered for a half marathon being held on February 3rd, 2008 and instead of my normal training schedule of "logging miles" I concentrated on the CATZ training sessions. Between Dec.'07 and Feb. '08 I did only 3 runs of 10-12 miles. However, since joining CATZ, I have religiously attended from 2 to as many as 5 sessions per week. During this time I have seen my "core" strength increase, my sprinting and recovery time improve. Well, I ran the Surf City USA half Marathon in cold blowing rain on Sunday morning February 3rd. To my surprise and excitement, I felt GREAT the entire race and turned in a Personal Best of 1:43:21 which crushed my previous best time by approximately 15 minutes! My next full marathon is in April and I can't wait to see how I do then! "

CATZ Team Challenge

The Competitive Athlete Training Zone of Highlands Ranch has a challenge for local teams. The challenge – send us a team that will train for free and see the results first hand. CATZ will prove the benefits and effectiveness of their training programs to local teams through action, not just words…!

The leadership of CATZ Highlands Ranch is challenging local sports leagues to send one team to participate in a sport specific training program at no charge. The team will be tested before training begins, at the half-way point, and again at the end. Tests may be monitored by parents, coaches, and/or administrators and the results will be presented to the league.

The sport specific programs will be the same programs that are offered to all athletes who come to the CATZ Highlands Ranch facility. The athletes will participate in the same programs as athletes at CATZ facilities all over the country.

CATZ training programs are sport-specific - every CATZ workout was created by breaking down the particular sport's movement patterns, rest periods, reaction needs, muscular power, endurance requirements and common sites of injury.

At CATZ we observe that sport is inherently chaotic… So we believe that the training for sport should mirror the chaos that an athlete will experience on the field of play. An athlete is required to adjust on the fly, reacting to visual cues and verbal cues. CATZ works to lessen the reaction time by training the athlete to respond quickly to movement and sound.

Our athletes “train like sport.” CATZ training is focused on training the movements and muscles that are used in a specific sport. CATZ training simulates the actions that take place on the field of play.

An additional, and imperative, benefit of CATZ training is the focus on injury prevention. Every CATZ training program works to reduce the risk of injury. In fact, CATZ is currently working with several leading medical schools in a National Institute of Health research project to study methods to reduce ACL injuries.

At CATZ Highlands Ranch athletes of all ages will receive personal attention before, during, and after their workouts. We want to get to know you and want you to know us. This is just one more way that we will make an athlete’s training more effective, efficient, and enjoyable.

We are so sure that CATZ training will have a positive impact on the speed, agility, strength, and overall conditioning of athletes that we will train them for free to prove to other coaches and league leadership that our training is the best.

Stay tuned for the results….
