“The Biggest Loser” program comes to CATZ-Needham

"I registered for a half marathon being held on February 3rd, 2008 and instead of my normal training schedule of "logging miles" I concentrated on the CATZ training sessions. Between Dec.'07 and Feb. '08 I did only 3 runs of 10-12 miles. However, since joining CATZ, I have religiously attended from 2 to as many as 5 sessions per week. During this time I have seen my "core" strength increase, my sprinting and recovery time improve. Well, I ran the Surf City USA half Marathon in cold blowing rain on Sunday morning February 3rd. To my surprise and excitement, I felt GREAT the entire race and turned in a Personal Best of 1:43:21 which crushed my previous best time by approximately 15 minutes! My next full marathon is in April and I can't wait to see how I do then! "

CATZ Athletes in NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

CATZ would like to congratulate Christine Capuano and Rush Zimmerman for helping their teams advance to the 2005 NCAA Division I Ice Hockey Championship! 

Christine Capuano (Stoneham, MA) is a sophomore at Dartmouth University playing in her second NCAA Division I National Championship. Notoriously tough in front of the net, sophomore Capuano (12-2-0, 1.93, .908) has started three of the Big Green’s four postseason games. When she posted a 4-0 quarterfinal victory over Colgate on March 4, it was the eighth postseason shutout in Dartmouth history. Capuano had not played since Feb. 11. Capuano then played both games at the ECACHL Championship. Five of her wins this season came against ranked teams, as have nine of her 19 career victories.

Providence College senior, Rush Zimmerman (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) has totaled a team-leading 26 goals, on her way to the 2005 NCAA Championship. With last Sunday’s 3-1 win over No. 10 Connecticut, the Friars won their fourth consecutive conference tournament title. With her stellar performance, Zimmerman was named the Pure Hockey Tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
