CATZ Named One of Top 10 Gyms in America

"I registered for a half marathon being held on February 3rd, 2008 and instead of my normal training schedule of "logging miles" I concentrated on the CATZ training sessions. Between Dec.'07 and Feb. '08 I did only 3 runs of 10-12 miles. However, since joining CATZ, I have religiously attended from 2 to as many as 5 sessions per week. During this time I have seen my "core" strength increase, my sprinting and recovery time improve. Well, I ran the Surf City USA half Marathon in cold blowing rain on Sunday morning February 3rd. To my surprise and excitement, I felt GREAT the entire race and turned in a Personal Best of 1:43:21 which crushed my previous best time by approximately 15 minutes! My next full marathon is in April and I can't wait to see how I do then! "

The Five Levels of Catz

CATZ believes that creating GREAT athletes involves more than just improving speed, strength, quickness and power. To truly be GREAT, an athlete’s physical development must be developed from within. Athletes who excel both on and off the field are those who are (a) fast, strong and powerful, (b) self-confident and (c) able to focus, to lead, to listen, and to follow.

The Five Levels of CATZ encourage the development of the complete athlete.

Advancing through the five levels of CATZ requires athletes to improve their speed, strength and agility; demonstrate solid decision-making ability in an environment that mimics sport; display strong leadership skills; and show a commitment to community service.

Every CATZ athlete is given a gray level shirt when they begin the program. Athletes are tested at set intervals to measure their improvement. By attaining the gold, athletes have achieved the highest level of greatness at CATZ.
